Tips for your portrait:

Getting ready for your session:

· Dress to be comfortable. Avoid dressing awkward outfits just for the sake of fashion.

· Pick the time of day when you and your family feel your best. The best time for young children is right after a nap, not

  before one.

· Bring whatever personal care items you think you may need. These include hairbrushes, make up, styling gel and so on.

· Bring favorite toys and accessories. Props can add fun and interest to your shoot. Not to mention they make a great

  distractions to a disgruntled child.

· Plan to take a break right after arriving to the location to adjust your clothes, and RELAX. If you are frazzled feeling, it will

  come across in the portraits.

· Try to avoid bare arms if you can. For most portraits that can draw attention for the face. Choose long sleeve shirts,

  sweaters, and blouses if possible

· The portrait is meant to draw attention to the subjects face, not away from it. So in general wear long sleeves, pants and

  skirts.

· Bring at least one additional change of clothes, and even more if you like.

· Choose darker clothes over light ones. Choose blues, greens, and burgundies if possible.

· Avoid red and orange colors that can conflict with your skin color. Likewise whites, yellow and pinks can be distracting.

· For group portraits have everyone wear complimentary colors. You don't need to wear matching outfits, but keep everyone

in the same color palette. For example, if one person is wearing red while everyone else is wearing blue they can become

  a distraction.
